About Us

Social Connections was created to help young adults with developmental disabilities navigate the challenges of the world. Most of our clients are diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, ADHD, Developmental Delays, and/or other neuro-divergent brain disorders. We focus on helping these young adults begin building independence in the following areas: communication skills, career skills, social skills, dating (sex education), self-care, self-advocacy and internet usage. Strong family support is critical in the success of the young adults journey.

Testimonials

Parent testimony #1: (male rising high school senior)

Our young adult was diagnosed with Autism much later than most children (half way through HS). At social connections we were able to understand why he had fallen through the cracks so long and how to navigate the world with this diagnosis. We understood what our young adult's rights are (at school and work), what we can do to support our young adult as parents and as a family, how to set boundaries, and how to not just accept the challenges that come with autism but make asking for accommodations normal and okay for our young adult. They both are great mentors for parents navigating the world with a loved one who is neurodiverse.

Missy and Kate have consistently gone above and beyond in helping our family advocate for our young adult as well as form meaningful relationships with each other and our young adult while going through this process.

Parent Testimony #2 (21 yr old male)

Social Connections has been such a blessing to our son who has always had problems communicating. He is now self advocating at work and home and his message is clear and well thought out. It’s like a life coach for teens/young adults on the spectrum.
